Even though lockdown has been lifted slightly in the U.K. (we're now able to meet up outside in groups of six or as two households), we're still wanting to find ways to make being at home as nice as possible. That means nice food - this week we've discovered an ice cream delivery service, at-home cooking inspiration on Instagram and nutritious ready meals.

Now that we’ve had about a year of trying to emulate restaurant standard food at home (some failures and some triumphs), we can now say that we’re ready to get specific, and that’s where @pierceabernathy comes in. A self professed dip connoisseur, they share great recipe videos of exciting yet achievable snacking foods from bean dips and pickled veg to focaccia (below) and halva.

Jossolini Ceramics

Our obsession with filling our home with beautiful things has not stopped at the sight of lockdown soon being over, and we’re eagerly awaiting a time when we can get our hands on a piece by Jossolini. Based in Norway, Johanne Birkeland slow makes each piece, using traditional methods which have a distinctive and quirky aesthetic.

We’re drawn towards the colourful drop style vases and the statement lamp shade stand! Soon to be shipping internationally so keep your eyes peeled over on her Instagram.

Collina Strada Rhinestone Water Bottle 

On the extravagant side yes, but we love any reason to remind us to stay hydrated. And rhinestones do that. Cult designer brand Collina Strada use their products to raise awareness of sustainability and social issues, they are aiming to be fully sustainable and transparent in the very near future.

We love the look for this bottle of course, but it’s also a great reminder that we can do small things to help reduce our strain on the world’s resources, and a reusable bottle, made using metal and glass rhinestone mesh, is a great place to start!

We Are Kin

An emerging black-owned brand based in London, We Are Kin design pieces made to transcend seasonal fashion, using end of line and surplus fabric sourced locally and make everything in East London. The classic silhouettes and colours are great for anyone trying a capsule wardrobe, or simply looking for pieces that will last a lifetime.

Jesse & Iris

We’ve still got a little while to wait until we can get back into our fave vintage and secondhand stores, so until then, we’ve been scouring the internet for places to buy pre-loved clothing. We stumbled across Jesse & Iris on Instagram. Only launching last summer, they’ve gained quite the following and we think we know why. Their handpicked pieces are of high quality and sourced with the current trends in mind, so you can be fashionable and sustainable at the same time.

Humble Meal

Now that the sun is shining and setting later, we’d rather not be standing over a hot stove in the evenings if we can help it. We love an easy, yet healthy way to get out of having to cook at least once a week. These dinner-for-two dishes from The Humble Meal are a great idea for a stress-free date night at home. With dishes like Salmon Bearnaise, Tuscan Beef Lasagne and Eggplant Parmigiana, you can have a restaurant meal after just 30 minutes in the oven.

Let’s be real, ice cream is one of our main food groups from April-September and we’re always looking for new and exciting flavours to try. Forget the average cone and flake, we’re taking sandwiches and these ones we’ve discovered from Happy Endings London are next level. With classic flavours like Mint Choc Chip and Strawberry Shortcake in sandwich form, as well as ice cream cakes (remember that if you’ve got a summer birthday), they’ve pushed Ben & Jerry’s right out of first place.
