The W&M team's most memorable 2020 moments

As a small, independent business, our success is completely dependent on the support of our wonderful customers. You helped us keep our virtual doors open throughout the toughest time our business has ever had, so thank you!

Although it's been a tough year, from having team members on furlough, to losing wholesale customers and organising the team on WFH schedules, we've had a nice selection of triumphs too.

Below, we've rounded up our favourite moments of 2020.

In the summer, we released the Strawberry Hoops, and these fruity numbers quickly became our bestsellers! Each drop we made sold out much quicker than we could make them, and we had so many lovely messages telling us how much you loved them and when more would be available.

Our team worked hard over the summer months to make as many as we could. Since then, we released some of our other fruit pieces on hoops too, like our classic pear and lemons, and they are now available as mix and match sets.

In June, we made it a priority to continue the conversation surrounding racism and anti-blackness within our company and with our audience in response to the murder of George Floyd and the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement. One of the things we did is look internally at our organisation and the ways we could start making progress.

Our management team started diversity training to help our business be more inclusive. This is an ongoing process, but we've already learnt a lot. Our training will continue into 2021 and we hope to have more important conversations here on our blog and on our social media, and make positive changes within all aspects of our business.

During lockdown earlier this year, the shortage of PPE in response to Covid-19 was something we were all aware of. Because we are an in-house manufacturer, we have access to materials and tools can be used to create visors, so that's what we did.

A few dedicated team members worked to make over 1000 visors! These were then donated to local healthcare organisations around us in North London.

Becoming more sustainable is something that we are constantly trying to do so, as well as small changes we've made in and around the studio including new recycling rules and plans to repurpose our scrap materials, we partnered with Ecologi to offset our carbon emissions.

In the last 6 months since we started, your orders have helped plant over 11,913 trees, as well as funding projects that have removed over 140 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere!

We were able to do Black Friday differently this year. To take the pressure of our team, we decided not to do a sale. Since this year, we were less dependent on BFCM sales to reach our targets and to help discourage unnecessary consumption, we wanted to give Black Friday a more positive twist.

We did this by donating 20% of our net sales to four charities across BFCM weekend. We love being able to support causes we care about and are planning more donations in the new year. We were able to donate a total of £4,820 from the sales we made over the weekend. You can read about the charities we donated to here.

We released lots of new pieces this year, but we (and you) were most excited about our limited edition pieces.

Reverie is inspired by dancing, colour and celebration, initially with summer festivals in mind. Even though those didn't happen, we all found reasons to need fabulous statement earrings to wear on Zoom or on our weekly outing to the supermarket!

Over the year, we released three editions of Hearts, as well as our most recent Celestial collection. We love making these limited edition pieces, with exclusive previews and early access to our subscribers. Keep an eye out for more in the new year.

7. Our Christmas Party...over Zoom!

Here at Wolf & Moon, we always see out our year with an extravagant Christmas party in our London studio. Due to Covid-19 and social distancing rules, we knew that we were not going to be able to have our usual bash, so we made some changes and had it over Zoom!

This year's theme was Game Show, 'Wammity Wam' to be exact, with lots of prizes to be won! Each team member received a goodie box filled with everything needed, including a whiteboard and pen, a festive hat and a tipple or two. We played quiz games until the early hours and exchanges handmade Secret Santa gifts virtually.

An unforgettable way to top off an unforgettable year.

Our workshop is closed from December 24th until January 6th, any orders placed then will be dispatched in early January. We'll see you in 2021!
