Pride Month Discoveries: Books Edition

We've dedicated a whole theme just to books as they are some of the most educational and supportive resources out there.

Whether you're in the mood to read an LGBTQ+ themed novel, learn more about gender identities, or a memoir for some insight into other people's experiences, we've compiled our top 10 for your reading list!

1. All The Things We Don't Talk About by Amy Felman.

A tender, immersive family saga novel that follows a neurodivergent father, his nonbinary teenager, and the sudden, catastrophic reappearance of the woman who abandoned them. A page turner!

2. Girls Can Kiss Now by Jill Gutowitz.

This timely collection of essays helps us make sense of our collective pop-culture past even as it points the way toward a joyous, uproarious, near—and very queer—future.

3. Black Girl, Call Home by Jasmine Mans.

A collection of poems to any woman on a journey to find truth and belonging. Each poem explores what it means to be a daughter of America-and the painful, joyous path to adulthood as a young, queer Black woman.

4. Women Don't Owe You Pretty by Florence Given.

An easy to read, progressive book exploring all conversations around feminism, the patriarchy and queer identity. It's also full of Florence's beautiful illustrations and is something you can dip in and out of anytime.

5. Detransition, Baby by Torrey Peters.

A whipsmart debut about three women—transgender and cisgender—whose lives collide after an unexpected pregnancy forces them to confront their deepest desires around gender, motherhood, and sex.

6. Love That Story by Jonathan Van Ness.

The wonderful JVN's second book uncovering uncovering the hidden LGBTQ history of his hometown, experiencing heartbreak, overcoming body image issues and living with HIV. A range of important topics that most people can relate to.

7. The Book of Non-Binary Joy.

Whether you are at the start of your journey or have been on the wild ride of gender introspection for a long time, this guide is here to help you thrive as your authentic - and most fabulous - non-binary self.

9. In Their Shoes by Jamie Windust.

There is no one way to be non-binary, and that's truthfully one of the best things about it. This must-read book is a call to arms for non-binary self-acceptance, self-appreciation and self-celebration.

8. Milk Fed by Melissa Broder.

A wildly erotic, and fiercely imaginative story about food, sex, and god. Pairing emotional insight with unabashed vivid fantasy, Broder tells a tale of appetites: physical hunger, sexual desire and spiritual longing.

10. Greedy: Notes From a Bisexual Who Wants Too Much.

Greedy follows Jen’s attempts to make sense of herself as she explores the role of the male gaze, what it means to be “queer enough,” and how to overcome bi stereotypes when you’re the posterchild for all of them: greedy, slutty, and constantly confused.
